چکیده

Oral mucositis refers to secondary mucosal damage, which usually occurs during cancer treatment. Generally, patients with head and neck cancers receiving radiotherapy will develop mucositis. begins inflammation is characterized by erythema confluent ulcers. The purpose of the study explore therapeutic effects Yunnan Baiyao combined Kangfuxin solution on radiation-induced oral influence production inflammatory factors in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) after radiotherapy. Clinical variables 90 NPC were retrospectively analyzed. All underwent treatment (normal saline inhalation dexamethasone, gentamicin, vitamin B12) 1st radiotherapy, among 45 received additional plus assigned as group. We found that remarkably attenuated pain dry mouth reduced degree hyperaemia, edema, ulceration undergoing ( P < 0.05 ). It was also notably inhibited release cancer-related markers, evidenced lower serum levels C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1 (IL-1), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), hypoxia-inducible factor-1 α (HIF-1α), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) detected group than control id="M2"> Additionally, numbers CD+3 CD+4 subpopulations T lymphocytes ratio CD+4/CD+8 significantly higher those id="M3"> ), number CD+8 id="M4"> In conclusion, these results indicated reduces response prevents against

Radiation-Induced Oral Mucositis

Radiation-induced oral mucositis (RIOM) is a major dose-limiting toxicity in head and neck cancer patients. It is a normal tissue injury caused by radiation/radiotherapy (RT), which has marked adverse effects on patient quality of life and cancer therapy continuity. It is a challenge for radiation oncologists since it leads to cancer therapy interruption, poor local tumor control, and changes i...
